First of all let me greet all my colleagues and trade partners for their hard work and support to promote our brands in their respective areas of operation.
As predicted earlier, this year monsoon rainfall has been very scanty and sporadic and finally put a negative impact on Kharif paddy cultivation. It was an’El-Nino’ year and the impact was havoc. Most of the seed companies could not perform as per their expectations in regard to paddy.
Particularly Odisha, Chhattisgarh, MP, Bihar, Jharkhand and Southern West Bengal – are the areas where paddy cultivation has been badly affected due to scarcity of rainfall. It way untimely, sporadic and scanty.
Sales returns are expected to be huge in paddy.
RSFPL has performed well as per the expectation of Management due to strong planning and execution. There are areas of improvement which will be taken care of in future.
Vegetable business is also not going well since last one year and returns are huge in vegetable business also.
Overall scenario in agri-input sector is not encouraging.
We are also skeptic regarding second quarter and third quarter business due to the scarcity of rainfall and poor money flow in the market.
I wish a very happy impending Season to all our trade partners.
Warm Regards,
TAPAS KONAR
